Mountain Aire encourages each and every person to foster their interest in
helping animals. Whether it's a part time presence volunteering throughout the week, a full time Registered Technician starting their career, or even a full fledged Veterinarian joining the team - MAVH welcomes and appreciates every helping hand. All applications are held on file for at least thirty days. Employees are generally hired out of our volunteer pool, as our volunteers have already become familiar with our facility, standards and procedures. Our practice strongly believes in rewarding hard work! Students are encouraged to become volunteers as early as possible so that they may begin accumulating hands-on experience hours even before formal medical education commences. (More than one of Mountain Aire's staff started out as a volunteer trying their hand at this animal care business before official employment!) Volunteers must be a minimum of thirteen years of age, and certain restrictions will apply to duties in direct relation to age in accordance with practice philosophy and California State regulations for medical facilities. Younger volunteers may be permitted to observe hospital procedures if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian while in the treatment area.
